Our Program

The exhibition program of Galerie Siedlarek is rooted in the abstract traditions of post-war American art, particularly Minimalism, Post-Minimalism, and adjacent conceptual approaches. Our mission is to build and continually refine a multifaceted portfolio that represents key artistic voices and discourses from 1945 to 1970, exploring their diverse contexts and significance. This historical foundation is thoughtfully complemented by contemporary positions that engage with, reinterpret, or challenge these legacies.

Alongside internationally recognized and celebrated artists, we are committed to showcasing abstract practices that, despite their importance, have remained underrepresented in Germany. Our goal is to broaden and diversify the dominant narratives of art history, offering a more nuanced and comprehensive understanding of (American) abstraction.

Our contemporary program bridges art history and the present. We invite emerging and mid-career artists from Europe and the United States to present their work in Frankfurt, often in dialogue with historical positions. These exhibitions aim to create spaces where cross-generational and transatlantic exchanges can unfold and evolve, fostering a dynamic engagement with abstract art. By curating thoughtful constellations, we allow the works to resonate with one another, encouraging fresh perspectives on abstraction.

A significant focus of our work lies in discovering and supporting regional talent. We are dedicated to collaborating with artists and curators from the Frankfurt area and the academic institutions of the Rhine-Main region, contributing actively to the development of the local art scene.
